5 Concession Stand Foods That Are Always There For You
Nope. This isn’t a list of foods that are good for a wrestler at a tournament. This is a list of foods that are good for YOU, the supporter! Not good for you in the healthy sense. But good for you in the “I need food to cope with this stress” sense.
Let’s be honest. We all have good intentions about showing up to a wrestling tournament with a stash of healthy snacks and sandwiches. But about mid-season our healthy goal usually goes bye-bye faster than a new years resolution.
So here are 5 things every concession stand MUST HAVE if the spectators are going to survive an entire day of waiting for a wrestler to compete from round to round.
#1- POPCORN
It’s cheap. We can get another bag each round. Plus can you ever go wrong with popcorn? No. No you can’t. Unless you burn it, in which case rioting may occur.
#2- HOT DOG
Ok admittedly I don’t like Hot Dogs. But, almost all of the rest of humanity lives for them. Hot Dogs are the sports food superman. Get one, get two and make a footlong, just do whatever takes the edge off.
#3- NACHOS
Awwww yeah. If you’re feeling like a big spender, get the super nachos. The cheese is not real, but that’s ok. It’s good, and you deserve all 350 of those unpronounceable ingredients just this once. I think the stuff glows in the dark. But YOLO.
#4- CANDY
Top off all that sodium with a little bit of sugar, right? Salty and sweet, just like your lil’ wrestler. Mix those M&Ms with the popcorn and you’ve got a real winner. Note to concession stand inventory people: MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SNICKERS. OBVIOUSLY.
#5- HOMEMADE STUFF
Pork Sandwiches, BBQ Beef, homemade desserts, some school concession stand volunteers really put on a show. And we all love them for it. None of us wants to do that at at OUR concession stand, because holy crap. But we really love it when other people do it.
So hey, we know the other people will give you looks but, It’s ok. Let go of the guilt. You’re tired, you’re busy, you’re stressed, just GO GET SOME POPCORN. Plus, you’re supporting the host team’s wrestling program and that, my friends, is a great excuse to get some glow in the dark nachos and a candy bar.
